DESCRIPTION:
The CS410110 128 x 32 pixels/dots Serial Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) module is a very functional display that can be easily controlled by a C Stamp. The VFD display is compatible with the C Stamp microcomputer’s supplies and signal levels. Communicating with the VFD is made easy with A-WIT's supplied software commands SEROUT2 or SHIFTOUT that use the Asynchronous or Synchronous Serial communications capability of the C Stamp. One of these simple two commands interface is all that is required to communicate with the VFD. In addition, this Serial VFD also provides you with full control over all of its advanced VFD features. The CS410110 VFD display requires only a 5 V power supply and the one connection related to transferring data to the VFD via the serial protocol. Many useful formatting functions are built into the operation of the VFD. There is a refresh RAM buffer built into the VFD to ensure minimum loading on the C Stamp. With this display and the C Stamp, users can design a professional-looking graphics and text user interface on any microcontroller application, supply an easy-to-use debugging interface that does not require a PC, and provide real-time sensor data output on autonomous robotic applications. The VFD has 8 levels of brightness controlled by software, so that the brightness can be reduced if desired.
