DESCRIPTION:
Where in the world
is your C Stamp? Now you can know with this GPS Sensor Board
with Serial Interface. The CS460000 (GPS 15™) sensor board
is designed for a variety of system applications, including
car navigation, wireless communications, marine navigation,
mapping, and more. The sensor was designed to be small and
affordable. It offers excellent EMI/RFI performance, so that
it can operate near mobile computing devices and wireless
communications equipment. The CS460000 offers a serial CMOS
interface, and is powered off a 3.3 V supply, but it is
compatible with the C Stamp microcomputer’s signal levels.
The sensor requires only a 3.3 V power supply and the two
connections related to transferring data to and from the GPS
via the serial protocol; however, the sensor has an
additional backup power port that users can utilize to
connect a battery as a backup power source. Many useful
functions are built into the operation of the GPS, as
described with the software functions used to communicate
with the it. With this GPS unit and the C Stamp users can
design vehicular and robotic applications that contain
autonomous global positioning capabilities.
