DESCRIPTION:
Where in the world
is your C Stamp? Now you can know with this GPS Sensor Board
with Serial Interface. The CS461000 (GPS 15L™) sensor board
is designed for a variety of system applications, including
car navigation, wireless communications, marine navigation,
mapping, and more. The sensor was designed to be small and
affordable. It offers excellent EMI/RFI performance, so that
it can operate near mobile computing devices and wireless
communications equipment. The CS461000 offers a serial CMOS
interface, and is powered off a 3.3 V to 5.4 V supply, and
it is compatible with the C Stamp microcomputer’s signal
levels. The sensor requires only a power supply and the two
connections related to transferring data to and from the GPS
via the serial protocol. The CS461000 internal FLASH memory
allows the GPS to retain critical date such as satellite
orbital parameters, last-known position, data, and time.
Many useful functions are built into the operation of the
GPS, as described with the software functions used to
communicate with the it. With this GPS unit and the C Stamp
users can design vehicular and robotic applications that
contain autonomous global positioning capabilities.
